On 10 June 2016, Prologis and Action hosted a lively inauguration to celebrate the first phase of the logistics platform developed for Action, a Dutch chain of discount stores. Located within its Moissy-Cramayel Park in Seine-et-Marne outside Paris, the 71,000 square meter turnkey facility with 12 buildings is Action's first distribution center outside the Netherlands.
Guests at the inauguration included Line Magne, mayor of Moissy-Cramayel; Sander Van Der Laan, CEO of Action; Eric Hémar, president of ID Logistics; and François Rispe, managing director and regional head of Southern Europe for Prologis.
Cécile Tricault, country manager of France for Prologis, said, "This day was also the occasion to celebrate our first new building in Moissy 2, a sign of Prologis' improved positioning in the Southern Paris market, providing large-scale facilities that respond to problems facing e-merchants, large retailers, leading manufacturers and service providers."
The facility marks the arrival of the first tenant in the Prologis Moissy Park 2, a development that stands as an example of turning an environmental wasteland into a hub of economic activity. Prologis Moissy 2 occupies land that was formerly used as a PSA Peugeot facility.
Prologis reused and recycled the maximum possible volume of waste from deconstruction. Because it was developed with a proactive environmental approach, the facility has received a BREEAM accreditation of "Very Good" and obtained environmental certifications in accordance with ISO 14001 standards. The park includes a stormwater management system and beehives and shelters for a range of mammals that live on the property.
