In the words of Cécile Tricault, senior vice president and country manager for France, Prologis aspires to "become a company that gives more than it takes." While describing the company’s very DNA, this maxim also encapsulates why the Marly-la-Ville development has been awarded the IBPC (International Biodiversity and Property Council) BiodiverCity® label. With a score of AAAB, Park Marly even became the first ever the logistics facility to be awarded the highest BiodiverCity rating, ″Excellent″.  The Marly-la-Ville countryside is set to enjoy more plant and animal diversity than before the Prologis Park was built!

Working with a landscaper and an ecology consultant, Prologis has established grass wetland, preserved forests, a forest pool providing habitat for the palmate newt (a member of the salamander family), an orchard and bee-foraging plants around the site. Shelters and biotopes to support certain target species such as amphibians, bats and little owls have also been provided. To complete the picture, three bee hives will be installed. A plethora of concrete measures which fully deserve the label that recognizes the ecological performance of buildings based on four main axes:  commitment, strategy, ecological potential and services rendered.

Given the site’s primary function as a logistics facility, its users have not been overlooked in the conception of the outdoor space. A fitness circuit complete with exercise equipment has been incorporated, and a grassy area shaded by ancient trees provides a pleasant environment for a break, with sun loungers when the weather is clement! A vegetable garden has also been established to provide another relaxing activity to enjoy with colleagues.

Prologis Park Marly, with this award, has become a symbol of Prologis’ vision of environmental protection: going beyond the simply preservation of local flora and fauna, designing sites that actually develop biodiversity.
